Just nearly four months since he publicly confirmed that he is splitting from wife Moonda Tee, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alum Nicholas Brendon got arrested today over felony grand theft and criminal mischief charges.
According to Gossip Cop, Brendon was detained after he refused to pay the hotel where he stayed for the night on Monday.
The 43-year-old male celebrity, who has a recurring role in "Criminal Minds" reported got drunk when he stayed at the Hilton in fort Lauderdale for the Shock Pop Comic-Con event in town.
Insiders say he trashed his room and incidentally slept in a hotel employee's office. When he was to leave the hotel, he refused to pay his bill which included the $450 fee for the damages in his room and the $380 food and beverage fee he had incurred during his stay there.
Authorities confirmed that the "Buffy" actor was arrested. His mug shot was even posted on Broward County Sheriff's website.
Prior the moment when he got arrested, Brendon took to Twitter to complain that Shock Pop organisers didn't provide him with a per diem or ride to the airport for his appearance at the event.
The news that Nicholas got arrested comes a week after the television actor revealed publicly that he and wife Moonda Tee are splitting following their 4-month marriage.
"I am officially announcing that Nicholas and his wife, Moonda Tee, have parted ways," read a statement from Nicholas' rep's statement. "Nicholas expressed that Moonda is truly a 'beautiful person' and that he 'wishes her the best that life has to offer.' We know that there will be rumors and gossip, but we ask that Nick's privacy be respected during this difficult time. Things like this are never easy."
This is the second time that Brendon made headlines for getting arrested. Last October, he was also taken into custody by the police at a comic-related event in Boise, Idaho, reports Zap2It.
At the time, he was busted for "malicious injury to property" and resisting as well as obstructing authorities from arresting him after causing a serious disturbance at the hotel when he was staying.
Back then, he took to Facebook to voice out his apology for his "unacceptable behaviour" and his cry for "appropriate treatment and therapy" for his "medical ailments and emotional demons."
