'Fifty Shades of Grey' Box Office Mojo: Makes Big At Box Office, Film Chemistry Fails To Sizzle

"Fifty Shades of Grey" Box Office Mojo - The highly-anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James erotica book has finally made its way onscreen. Much to the delight of fans of the book, "Fifty Shades of Grey" debuted on the day of hearts itself. So how exactly did it fare at the box office?

According to "Fifty Shades of Grey" Box Office Mojo, the film's opening received around $158 million. Over a three-day weekend, the film scored $85 million. It played in more than three thousand theatres despite the R-rating.

In comparison to the first "Twilight" film, "Fifty Shades of Grey" box office mojo earned way higher. The film also managed to beat "Kingsman: The Secret Service." Obviously, the most in attendance during the film's debut were women. 68% of those in attendance were ladies while the 32% were male, who had to make quite the sacrifice for their beloved on Valentine's Day.

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" box office mojo will increase even more as film experts predict that it would gross $91 million in four days. Time also states that the film could be one of the highest grossing R-rated films. As for the top spot for the most millions made on its opening weekend, the spot still belongs to "Matrix Reloaded" for $92 million in 2003.

While "Fifty Shades of Grey" box office mojo is a clear indicator of the film's success, a number of reviews have poured in. Some claim there wasn't much chemistry between Jamie Dornan, who played Christian Grey, and Dakota Johnson, who played Anastasia Steele.

CNN, clearly putting aside "Fifty Shades of Grey" box office mojo, states the film is the "worst" in their review. VOX on the other hand states that director Sam Taylor-Johnson has managed to twist the romantic erotica film into a hilarious comedy. Have you watched the film? What can you say about it?
