Canadian authorities claim to have foiled a Valentine's Day massacre. The said massacre, which was a mass shooting, was said to be carried out at a mall in Novia Scotia. Dan Karpenchk of NPR reports that the three men taken into custody had planned to kill "as many people as possible" before taking their own lives.
So what led to the police finding out about the plans and the Valentine's Day massacre location? An unnamed Royal Canadian Mounted Police states it came from a Crime Stoppers hotline tip. A woman, aged 23, from Illinois was said to be part of the plan. She was arrested at the Halifax airport before confessing to the plot.
"Police said in a statement that Lindsay Kantha Souvannarath, 23, of Geneva, Illinois, and Randall Steven Shepherd, 20, of Nova Scotia have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. They are due in court on Tuesday," adds the Associated Press in their exclusive report.
The group planning the Valentine's Day massacre location in Canada were reportedly obsessed with death. Their group chats also contained a number of photos of mass killing.
"This appeared to be a group of murderous misfits that were coming here or were living here and prepared to wreak havoc and mayhem in our community," stated Canadian Justice Minister, Peter McKay with regards to the Valentine's Day massacre location and plot getting foiled by police.
Canadians can rest easy as all those involved in the Valentine's Day massacre location and plot have been arrested.
