Coast Guard Shooting - Adrian Loya, Petty Office Second Class, has finally been arrested following the deadly shoot out leaving one female Coast Guard dead, while severely injuring another Coast Guard and a cop. What led to the deadly shooting?
According to numerous reports, the Coast Guard shooting was mainly due to Loya's obsession with his female fellow Coast Guard, Lisa Trubnikova. Trubnikova is a lesbian who is married to another Coast Guard petty officer named Anna Trubnikova.
Loya was reportedly obsessed with Lisa. The obsession began when Loya was stationed in Alaska, where both women were stationed. Despite having shown no interest in Loya, this did not stop Adrian from pursuing Lisa, thus ultimately leading to the deadly Coast Guard shooting.
"He became obsessed," shares a family member in a report by Boston Globe, adding, "He was fixated on her."
While the Coast Guard shooting left Lisa Trubnikova dead, her wife Anna Trubnikova is currently in the hospital. Anna is joined by another police officer wounded in the ambush attack on Loya following the shootout.
As for the Coast Guard shooting, Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe claims the attack on the lesbian couple was planned and calculated weeks before. According to reports by Daily Mail, Loya had checked into a hotel located close to the couple's residence days before the shooting.
Investigations continue regarding the Coast Guard shooting. The Fifth Coast Guard district in Portsmouth is actively helping out with the investigation.
"As Coast Guard members, we may not know the victim," shares U.S. Coast Guard Fifth District Public Affairs Third Class Petty Office, Nate Littlejohn, on the Coast Guard shooting in a report by 13 News Now. "We may not know the alleged perpetrator, but whenever something like this happens it hits close to home for all of simply because we're so small."
