It is difficult to figure out where to go when there are so many amazing and breathtaking places around the globe to choose from. But there are a couple of important qualifications that can help narrow down the options: safety, weather, and expense.
For those who aren't trained in mortal combat, adept at self-defense, and are traveling alone or with a fellow feeble friend, safety is extremely vital to consider. As beautiful and mesmerizing as the sights are in Africa, South America, and the Middle East, these places may not be the best for those worried about personal safety. Although that is not the case across the board for the entirety of these regions, there are a significant amount of dangerous spots scattered throughout.
When it comes to summer vacations, weather is a crucial aspect of choosing where to go. Although Asia is a glorious continent on our planet with so many wonderful things to see, summer is there absolute worst season: monsoon season. In the beginning of summer during May and June, it is incredibly hot and humid. This is difficult considering that most places in Asia have a majority of their must-see activities outside, and not everywhere you go has air conditioning. Then in July and August it rains constantly throughout the greater portion of Asia.
Luckily, if you are dying to go to Asia over the summer, there is one exception: Indonesia. For some reason, the weather in Indonesia remains pleasant throughout the summer without getting too hot or too rainy. Bali is an incredible place to visit with their beautiful beaches, cultural activities, and unique cuisine that it would be the best place in Asia to visit over the summer.
Another continent where you definitely need to consider weather is Antarctica. Contrary to what you might think, summer is the coldest time of the year in Antarctica with an average high of -76 degrees Fahrenheit in July. So it might be best to avoid an icy adventure to Antarctica during the summer.
Lastly, an important consideration while traveling is price. There are some places that would be difficult to travel through on a tight budget, so for those who have wads of cash to spend, you can ignore this paragraph. Western Europe is one of the most popular places to explore, but it is also one of the most expensive regions of the world. While it is entirely possible to see Western Europe on a budget, and tons of people have done it, it takes serious effort that you wouldn't have to put forth if you were traveling through a different region.
The same issue goes for Australia and New Zealand. While these are some of the best recommended places to see in the world, the expenses for plane tickets, food, and activities is going to be extremely difficult to keep within a budget.
So you may be wondering, what does that leave you with other than Indonesia? The best region in the world after tallying those three considerations is Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe is a safe place where you can travel between countries easily by train without too much concern. The weather in the summer is sunny and pleasant without being scorching hot or terribly rainy. And most activities, food, hotels, and nightlife are entirely reasonably priced to where you shouldn't have trouble sticking to a budget and still getting to do everything that you want. Eastern Europe is often neglected by travelers even though it has a tremendous amount to offer, and is definitely worth traveling to.
North America is also a great place to travel around in the summer. Obviously, safety is not much of a concern when traveling through North America. It is not quite as cheap as Eastern Europe, but doable on a budget if you are traveling by car. If you attempt to see North America by plane than the expense will be significantly more. The southern end gets a little hot in the summer, but the northern half of the United States and especially Canada has very pleasant weather during the summer. There are so many breathtaking things to see in North America such as national parks, mountains, beaches, big cities, among many other things.
Whatever you decide to plan for this coming summer, don't forget to consider these three very important aspects of travel that will certainly affect you on your journey!
