Monty Oum, the world-renowned gaming animator, passed away at 33 after reportedly suffering a severe allergic reaction to medical procedure yesterday, reports E! Online.

It was on Jan. 21, 2015 that Monty Oum was hospitalized following after the allergic reaction. This put him into a coma. It was publicly announced then that he was "in critical care and it is not known if he will recover."

A donation page was even set up in order to help Monty Oum's family be able to afford the medical expenses for his treatment. The fund the site was able to raise was $50,000 within only 3 hours, $100,000 within 5 hours, and $150,000 within 24 hours, according to Wikia.com.

Unfortunately, on Feb. 1, 2015, Monty Oum still passed away as a result of the coma.

Rooster Teeth first announced the news of Monty Oum's death.

"Our friend, inspiration and co-worker Monty Oum passed away yesterday afternoon at 4:34 p.m. surrounded by people who loved him very much. Ten days ago Monty suffered a severe allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure that left him in a coma. Although he fought bravely, his body was not able to recover. During his time in the hospital he was well cared for and never in pain at any time," announced the company.

Monty Oum is survived by his wife Sheena, his father Mony, his brothers Woody, Sey, Chivy and Neat, and his sisters Thea and Theary, as well as a countless number of fans and friends, according to Rooster Teeth.

Monty Oum may have already passed on, but his accomplishments in life won't be easily forgotten.

To those unfamiliar with the great Monty Oum, below are 5 facts about him that will have people missing an amazing mind:

Fact 1:

Monty Oum is an animator for Rooster Teeth, which is a Texas-based anime and gaming production company.

He worked for Rooster Teeth Productions, where he initially began animating the well-known Machinima series Red vs. Blue in its eighth season.

Fact 2:

Monty Oum was the creator, director, writer, animator and a voice actor of RWBY.

The idea for the RWBY series was reportedly in Monty Oum's head since Season 9 of Red vs. Blue. It was conceived one night while he was at IHOP with Shane Newville. Monty Oum decided that he was going to design the world for RWBY right then and there.

He decided to start on his world because "geography determines your culture and culture determines your people," said Monty's Journal dated Nov. 7, 2012.

According to Monty Oum, Burnie Burns had told him that as long as he finished Red vs. Blue Season 10, he can then create and do whatever he wanted. Thus after pitching the premise of the show, he got the permission to proceed with RWBY.

Fact 3:

Monty Oum had also worked on some individual fan projects, like Dead Fantasy and Haloid. However, he previously said that his main goal was to create an original series, which eventually became to RWBY. He also voiced Lie Ren.

Fact 4:

Monty Oum was also, as described by independent blog rubberninja.tumblr.com, the epitome of motivation, determination and resolve. He never slowed down, is always efficient and quick and as productive as possible.

Monty Oum was even parallel to Bruce Lee when it comes to the world of animation. He would slow down for nothing more than his amazing wife Sheena.

It might be hard to imagine Monty Oum in this sense, but to those unfamiliar with the animator, he is someone who reportedly would literally microwave food by hitting random numbers, then pulls it out the second it was ready, rush off to an 18-hour work day with a uniform adorned with ping pong balls.

He is like a man who opts to have a work space right next to a motion capture stage since this was the most efficient location. Monty Oum is a man who operates his computer entirely via keyboard shortcuts, even hardly ever needing to touch the mouse, with keyboard keys breaking frequently from the break neck speed he worked in.

All this is the great Monty Oum. May you rest in peace.
