Zombie Tours: Travel Like the Living Dead

The Zombie Apocalypse. It's happening. Or at least it seems that way with all of the recent gruesome news stories coming out. Last weekend in Miami, a naked man was shot and killed because he was eating the flesh of another man's face. On Monday, a New Jersey man stabbed himself and proceeded to throw his intestines and pieces of his skin at cops. On Tuesday night, a man found human remains in a tin in his basement. It turns out that the man's brother killed and dismembered his roommate and ate the victim's brain and heart.

It looks like the popular zombie show The Walking Dead is becoming a reality series in off the TV screen. Eating another human might not be your idea of fun, but if the living dead intrigues you, there are certain travel opportunities that may peak your interest. In various parts of the country, you can safely explore your zombie craze, without actually eating human brains, on different zombie-esque tours.

Mystery, Mayhem and Vice Crime Bus Tour in Miami, FL

Recently, Rudy Eugene, 31 attacked another man and proceeded to eat his face on May 26. He growled at police officers as he indulged in his human meal. Police had to shoot him over six times, until he was finally dead to get him to stop this gruesome act.

It may be a bit soon, but the location on a ramp off Miami's MacArthur Causeway, where this real life zombie-like attack occurred, is being added to the popular "Mystery, Mayhem and Vice Crime Bus Tour," hosted the HistoryMiami. The now notorious crime will be a stop along the tour that also includes mobster Al Capone's house, the mansion where designer Gianni Versace was murdered, the site of the attempted assassination of Franklin Roosevelt, the Miami City Cemetery, and sites from the 1980s hit TV show Miami Vice.
