What is Super Bowl 2015 without some entertainment? Prior the main game, Idina Menzel sang the national anthem, followed by John Legend performing "America the Beautiful." The halftime show, being one of the most awaited Super Bowl 2015 moments, was headlined by international superstar Katy Perry. The singer performed her hits including "Roar," Dark Horse," "I Kissed a Girl" (with Lenny Kravitz), "Teenage Dream," "California Gurls," "Firework," and a rap medley of "Get Ur Freak On," "Work It," and "Lose Control" (with Missy Elliott).

Katy Perry's performances were well received critically. Rolling Stones' James Montgomery even called Perry's performance as "bright [and] booming." However, some netizens still find Beyonce's Super Bowl performances two years ago more entertaining and captivating. Aside from Katy Perry, British rock band Coldplay and Barbadian pop singer Rihanna were shortlisted to headline the said show. The halftime show was streamed simultaneously on YouTube.
