Previously on Reign Season 2, we saw Mary put into action her desire to save Conde after learning that the Vatican is looking for him while bearing the branded mark of the Dark Riders. Unbeknownst to her, Conde is starting to develop strong feelings and affinity towards her and that this may spell trouble between her and Francis. Then, there's also the fact that Francis put Bash at stake when he decided to put an end to the Dark Riders legend.
