The recently concluded 2015 Winter X Games drew winter sports enthusiasts to Aspen, Colorado, where the famous sport event happened from January 21 to January 25, 2015. These games were the 14th consecutive Winter X Games to be held in Aspen.
The 2015 Winter X Games gathers the world's best athletes in skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling to compete and outplay each other at the five-day event. All games were open to the public, allowing them to cheer for their favorite players or teams as the games happen at the Buttermilk Mountain.
At the conclusion of the 2015 Winter X Games, the United States team garnered the most number of gold medals, totalling to 11. These gold medals are courtesy of Maddie Bowman (Women's SuperPipe Skiing), Nick Goepper (Men's SlopeStyle Skiing), Chris Devlin-Young (Men's Mono Skier X), Lindsey Jacobellis (Women's Snowboarder X), Keith Gabel (Men's Snowboard X), Chloe Kim (Women's SuperPipe Snowboarding), Danny Davis (Men's SuperPipe Snowboarding), Colten Moore (Speed and Style Snowmobiling), Heath Frisby (Long Jump Snowboarding), Garrett Goodwin (SnoCross Adaptive Snowmobiling), and Tucker Hibbert (SnoCross Snowmobiling).
Other gold medalists are Simon d'Artois from Canada (Men's SuperPipe Skiing), Vincent Gagnier from Canada (Men's Big Air Skiing), Emma Dahlström from Sweden (Women's SlopeStyle Skiing), Kevin Hill from Canada (Men's Snowboarder X), Mark McMorris from Canada (Men's Big Air Snowboarding and Men's SlopeStyle Snowboarding), Silje Norendal from Norway (Women's SlopeStyle Snowboarding), and Ryan Simons from Canada (HillCross).
Canada finished as a runner-up in 2015 Winter X Games with a total of 11 medals (six gold medals, two silver medals, and three bronze medals). Japan takes home the third most number of medals with two silvers and one bronze. Czech Republic withdrew joining in this year's games. However, two additional countries, Australia and New Zealand, participated in 2015 Winter X Games.
France will hold Winter X Games Europe, where more than 125 athletes will compete at their snowboard and skiing events.
ESPN still served as the official broadcast partner of the 2015 Winter X Games.
