School Bus Pentagram - A Christian mom from Tennessee recently became a newsmaker after campaign against pentagrams she saw on the brake lights of a local school bus. The school bus pentagram had the parent majorly upset, calling the symbol "satanic."
The woman from Cordova woman first observed what she called the school bus pentagram early this month. She later snapped an image of the symbol and afterwards shared it on social media. She told WMC that she snapped a photo of the brake light on a Durham School Services bus in Cordova.
As of the current moment, the identity of the Christian mom is being protected since she said she has been receiving death threats after sharing the photo of the school bus pentagram via social media, according to Loudwire via CNN.
Two weeks ago, she also spoke with Action News 5 and said, "Anyone who fears a God, if not God and Jesus Christ, should be outraged."
"If you can't put a cross on there, you cannot put a pentagram on it," she added.
According to the mom, she found the school bus pentagram is appalling. The woman even referenced an incident last year wherein Walgreen decided to remove wrapping paper from its shelves since images on the paper appeared to be of swastikas.
"Would we allow a swastika, for instance, to be on the back of the bus?" the woman said.
A pentagram is a common eighties symbol usually associated with the era of heavy metal. It is frequently, but not exclusively associated with satanic imagery, according to the website Salon.
A practicing Wiccan named Jo Applewhite looked at the photo of the school bus pentagram and said that it did look like a pentagram. However, she added that the symbol is the same for her faith as the cross is for Christians, reports KWGN.
"Wiccans... we believe in God, we believe in Jesus, but we don't call him God," said Applewhite. "Find out what it really means before you start getting riled up and all worked up about something."
Applewhite also said that people may only be making a fuss over nothing.
"Go find out if it was intentional," she added.
The school bus pentagram may have caused quite a ruckus, but neither bus operator Durham School Services nor the school district has reportedly commented on the issue.
