Prince Andrew denial reports sent the Internet into a frenzy. The Duke of York was at the World Economic Forum, which was held in Davos, Switzerland, and he spoke up in public about the controversy for the very first time.
He is presently facing claims that he had sex with an underage girl, who was employed by a billionaire and convicted sex offender from the United States.
The reports regarding the allegations first broke out last month, which quickly forced the Buckingham Palace to give the press an unprecedented public denial.
"I wish to reiterate and reaffirm the statements already made on my behalf by Buckingham Palace," said Prince Andrew in denial. "My focus is my work."
According to the statements of the alleged victim, Virginia Roberts, it was the American billionaire financier, Jeffrey Epstein, who forced her into having sex with Prince Andrew when she was only 17 years old. She says that Epstein and Prince Andrew used to be very good friends.
Roberts has also claimed that Epstein had kept her as his own private "sex slave." Back in 2008, Epstein was convicted of soliciting an underage girl for prostitution and even served a prison sentence.
She detailed her allegations against the Duke of York at a Florida court. She says that she was forced to have sex with the 54-year-old prince on three different occasions, which included an "orgy involving eight other young girls."
Her attorney gave a letter on Wednesday, and it read that they want the prince to respond under oath to the sexual allegations being stacked up against him. They want Prince Andrew denial to be interviewed exclusively "regarding interactions that you had with Jane Doe #3 (Roberts), beginning in approximately early 2001."
They requested that the interview should last for almost two hours and that its documentation should include a photograph that shows the prince with his arm around Roberts.
