The 'Insurgent' movie is finally here... at least some of its important details and scenes are. The highly-anticipated movie adaptation of the second installment in Veronica Roth's hit trilogy is finally premiering this March, but today Summit Entertainment dropped some interesting bits that will surely give fans many things to talk about until the film finally premieres.
According to Design & Trend, Lionsgate already got a rating for the film and its PG-13 just like 'Divergent.' The rating is of course a product of the intense violence scenes, some sensual ones here and there, thematic elements and mature language the film possesses.
Another interesting bit that got officially released today is the movie synopsis for 'Insurgent' which reads:
"'Insurgent' raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them."
'Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.'
Apart from the technical deets, a couple of movie stills and behind-the-scene footage emerged on social media, particularly on Tumblr and YouTube.
The BTS clip is entitled 'The Divergent Series: INSURGENT - Preliminary B-Roll' while the Tumblr stills also serve as promotional materials for the movie that is set to hit theaters on March 20, 2015.
Meanwhile, lead actress Shailene Woodley, who is also busy promoting the flick, was spotted posing for the camera last Sunday afternoon.
She was reportedly doing a photo shoot in Santa Barbara, Ca., when she dished about the difficult time she had when she had her heart broken by her first boyfriend, Just Jared has learned.
"I remember when I was 17, I had broken up with someone who was my first love," she said. "After we broke up, I decided to take a year to know me. I didn't want to date anyone else. I didn't want to look at anyone else."
"What I found was I had more fun with myself than I ever had with another person. My entire life, I felt like I had to depend on others for entertainment and depend on external experience in order to laugh and find things really funny. I became my own best friend. That was the most beautiful realization I had during that whole period," she added.
Aside from Woodley and her on-screen romance Theo James, 'Insurgent' also stars Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer and many more.
