Is Sylvester Stallone really dead? A report claiming that he is is currently making rounds on the Internet, and convincing everyone that the "Rocky" actor has already passed away.
It could be regarded as the first celebrity death hoax this 2015, but the fast-spreading report isn't actually the first one in the string of hoaxes claiming Sylvester Stallone is dead.
According to International Business Times, the report insisting that Stallone has died spread like wildfire since its conception.
Apparently, some people made a fake Facebook page in an attempt to make the make-believe news even more believable.
The viral hoax claims that the "Expendables" actor died after a serious car crash. The report even detailed that the actor's driver was a tad drunk that's why he didn't notice the incoming truck.
However, the deception in this report could easily be uncovered when one clicks the play button of a supposed to be embedded video of the crash.
Many say that this is actually a ploy to scam and trap vulnerable users.
Another notorious site known for spreading death hoaxes, Media Mass, is also attracting a lot of attention online after it reported that an "R.I.P. Sylvester Stallone" Facebook page was made to pay tribute to the 68-year-old actor.
Nevertheless, it also slammed the Facebook page as hoax and went on to clarify that the page presents a fake report and that there is no truth in the statement that the "Rambo" star has passed away.
Again, this is not the first time that several notorious sites targeted Stallone as their victim in spreading death hoaxes.
A report from the Global Associated News published in January 2013 claimed at the time that Stallone died due to a snowboard accident.
"Witnesses indicate that Sylvester Stallone lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed. Sylvester Stallone was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death." the report read.
Good thing Global Associated New has a disclaimer below which reads: "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!"
So there you have it, Sylvester Stallone isn't dead at all.
