Teen Posed As Doctor, Caught At West Palm Beach Hospital, Teen Not Taking Medication? [VIDEO + REPORT]

Teen Posed As Doctor - On Tuesday, a teen was arrested by police after posing as a doctor, wearing a lab coat, stethoscope and face mask at a south Florida medical center to deceive hospital staff and patients. Apparently, the teen, posed as doctor, had been doing the ruse for a month now.

Fortunately for the boy, Florida police and St. Mary's Medical Center officials in West Palm Beach said on Friday that they would not be pursuing charges against the boy, according to The Guardian.

The story of the teen, posed as doctor was first reported by the Sun Sentinel. The publication was able to obtain a police report dating back January 13. The police report related how the hospital staff told West Palm police of a doctor walking the halls appearing "to be a child".

Little did they know that the teen posed as doctor and he was only wearing a white St Mary's lab coat with "anesthesiology" on the front to deceive the staff and the patients.

According to a security guard, he had already seen the teen around the hospital for a month. Another said that the teen posed as doctor this week and was able to enter secured areas of the hospital, reports the Associated Press.

The police report read: "Multiple people saw the teenager walking around the hospital for approximately one month pretending to be a doctor".

Nurses and a doctor said the teen who posed as doctor eerily hovered inside an OB/GYN office while an actual physician was examining a patient. The doctor, Sebastian Kent, felt that something was wrong since he had never seen the boy before.

The report said that Kent later called security and found a note in his office which asked him whether the teen, posed as doctor, could "shadow" him.

Security camera footage did not show the boy "entering any rooms or seeing any patients." However, he did wander the halls.

When police tried to confront the teen after posing as a doctor, he tried to leave one of the center's buildings with his cousin. Police eventually caught him and he told them that he had been working as a doctor for years.

Medical center officials told WSVN news the teen who posed as doctor was 17. The report didn't say what the teen's name and age were.

Meanwhile, the mother of the boy told police that he lives with an illness. He is currently under the care of a doctor and had not been taking his medication, reports click2houston.com.

The teen, posed as doctor and the West Palm Beach police in the end concluded that the boy had committed no crime. On Friday, medical center officials said they would not be pressing charges.
