London Hacking Arrest: British Teenager Arrested For XBox And PlayStation Network Hacks, Repeat Incident From 2011 Involving 19-Year Old British Teenager, British Teens Getting Out Of Hand?

London Hacking Arrest - A man from northwest England is said to have been arrested by British authorities. The man is connected to Xbox and PlayStation's network hack that occurred last year. The said hacks have caused quite long outages over the holidays.

Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox now have their hacking culprit behind bars. The arrest on one British citizen was made early today. Merseyside police refuse to divulge further details of the London hacking arrest made.

"Officers ... have arrested a man in Southport, Merseyside this morning as part of an investigation into 'swatting' and computer hacking offences," reads the statement in a report by Reuters. The officers involved in the London hacking arrest had worked hand in hand with the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The group who held responsibility for the London hacking arrest reportedly calls themselves the Lizard Squad. The said squad attacked PlayStation and Xbox networks in Christmas of 2014. Due to the hack, both gaming systems for Microsoft and Sony had suffered bouts of outages due to the distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks.

As for the man involved in the London hacking arrest, his role in the system hack is yet to be identified. Craig Jones, head of South East Regional's Organized Crime Unit in Britain has much to say about cybercrime.

"Cybercrime is an issue which has no boundaries and affects people on a local, regional, and global level," says Jones in a report by the New York Times.

The latest London hacking arrest on the other hand isn't the first recorded in history. Back in 2011, another British teenager was arrested after being connected to the Sony hack. In April 20, a massive data breach occurred affecting approximately 70 million of their subscribers.

With both London hacking arrests recorded, is this proof enough that cybercrime has become a social norm and rampant in today's youth? Are British teenagers getting out of hand with their cybercrimes?
