Naya Rivera's showering comments made the headlines this week. Many have commented that some beliefs, which may or may not be true, are best left not shared out loud.
The "Glee" star recently appeared on the show "The View" this week and she chose to share her beliefs regarding a connection between ethnicity and hygiene. According to Naya Rivera showering beliefs, doing so on a daily basis is "a white people thing."
She said this after Nicolle Wallace gave a bafflingly mundane statement that she sometimes cleans up "three times a day." Rivera only said, "I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics. I feel like showering more than once a day, or every day, is such a white people thing."
Rosie O'Donnell, one of the hosts of the highly watched talk show, who may have predicted that things could possibly be taken out of context, clearly tried to diffuse the comments. She asked a black member of the audience if she showered every day. The guest just slowly nodded.
Rivera explained, "My mom is half black, half Puerto Rican. She showers every day, so I can say this. But, I'm now married to a white man. And he showers a lot, like two, three times a day." The TV actress was referring to her recent husband, Ryan Dorsey.
Naya Rivera showering then took a more scientific turn as she included some research statistics into the mix. She added, "So, the study says a dermatologist says you are only supposed to shower once or twice every three days. So, I'm right on the mark."
Many of her fans and followers on social media appeared to be not so supportive about the things she said on the show. She only took to Twitter to discreetly tell them off. She wrote, "When you get out of the shower today, get a sense of humor. Love ya!"
