Uh-oh! Naya Rivera is walking on thin ice after saying some racist comments during her co-hosting stint for "The View."
According to Just Jared, Rivera may have caused a huge stir online after her appearance on Tuesday's episode of "The View" in New York City.
The 28-year-old "Glee" Season 6 actress and the co-hosts of the show were talking about hygiene when she admitted to showering for only once every three days or so. Yikes!
The "Sorry" singer then defended herself by explaining that it was actually an "ethnic" thing for her not to shower on a daily basis.
However, to help clarify her point-of-view, she compared her "ethnic" practice to that of white people, especially now that she has first-hand experience after marrying Ryan Dorsey.
"I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing," she said in front of the stunned live African-American audience member, who insisted that she's a "frequent showered," reports E! News.
"I can say that I am now married to a white man and he showers a lot. Like, a lot - two, three times a day. I'm like. 'What are you doing?'" she continued.
Then as if to stray the topic from race to science, Rivera explained her side by relating it to the topic of the segment.
"A study says... a dermatologist says you are only supposed to shower once or twice every three days, so I'm right on the mark," she proudly shared, according to Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, despite clarifying her side, Naya Rivera received a lot of criticism on social media especially on Twitter.
"I'm tell you now, Naya Rivera is incorrect. She is wrong. Ethnic folk do not shower less than White people," one user said.
"Maya Rivera said ethnic people shower less than white people? You really did dodge a bullet @BigSean," another one commented.
Nevertheless, Rivera has brushed off all the negative comments over her statements by tweeting, "When you get out of the shower today, get a sense of humor. Love ya!"
