An eyewitness to the candid proposal even dished that Usher gave a really "big" surprise to his girlfriend when he proposed with a huge sparkler.
"It's a huge diamond ... You wouldn't think it was an engagement ring because it's so big, but it could be one," the eyewitness said, according to News.com.au.
On Saturday, the newly engaged lovers were at the Golden Globes Art of Elysium HEVEN Gala and they looked very happy as they entered the venue together.
The 36-year-old singer gushed about his future bride saying, "She has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life and my career."
"She's someone who's been able to support and understand all of who I am. Not just as a dancer or as a performer or as a singer, but as a humanitarian and a business man and as a person," he added.
Miguel is actually eight years older than the recording artists and she has worked for him for more than three years now, People has learned.
If Usher and Miguel are tying the knot, this won't be the R&B artist's first since he was previously married to stylist Tameka Foster. They were married from 2007 to 2009 and share two sons, Raymond V, 7, and Naviyd, 6.
Usher and Foster separated amid reports that the singer cheated on his wife with two of her bridesmaids.
However, Usher has denied the reports in an interview with Oprah, even swearing that he didn't sleep with other women while he was in a relationship with Tameka.
"Towards the end of our marriage, I found myself lost, and I just wanted out," he said at the time. "I was faithful at heart, but not faithful all the way. Even having a conversation with another woman, period, about matters of your relationship or emotions is, in my opinion, not being faithful.
