Matt Bomer Golden Globes - The beloved actor from "Magic Mike" had to lose weight and look sick to grab the Golden Globe awards. Well, Matt Bomer isn't one to complain. Along with a few other notable winners that night, Bomer took home the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie.
For the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie, Bomer was up against Jon Voight for "Ray Donovan," Bill Murray for "Olive Kitteridge," Alan Cumming for "The Good Wife," and Colin Hanks for "Fargo." Despite being pitted against a few big shots, Matt Bomer Golden Globe win was all his.
Matt Bomer's Golden Globe award was presented by Katie Holmes and Seth Meyers. The award was presented at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
"To all the people we lost from this disease, I just want to say: We love you, we remember you," says Bomer in his acceptance speech. Apart from thanking director, Ryan Murphy, Bomer also dedicated his win to his hubby, Simon Halls, and their three kids namely Henry, Walker, and Kit.
"I want to thank you for putting up with me when I was 130 lbs. and really grumpy when you ate pizza in front of me," shares Bomer.
Matt Bomer's Golden Globes winning film, "The Normal Heart," depicts the increasing number of HIV-AIDS cases in New York City from the years 1981 to 1984. Bomer plays the part of Felix Turner, the partner of Ned Weeks who is the founder of the HIV advocacy group. In the film, it is Bomer's character who is inflicted with the AIDS virus.
