Anonymous Charlie Hebdo - Following the murder of Charlie Hebdo writers in Paris, a group of activists called Anonymous plan on their revenge against the killers. The Hacktivist group aims to avenge the deaths with a declaration of war.
The video of the Anonymous Charlie Hebdo activist group shows an individual wearing a mask, Guy Fawkes, from the notable Hollywood film, "V for Vendetta." In the video, the individual declares war against terrorists before adding their promise to track down and close all their accounts in social media networks.
The first Web site hacked by the Anonymous Charlie Hebdo group was a French Web site said to be affiliated with Islamist extremists. The group posted a tweet about their act with the caption: "Expect us. #JeSuisCharlie #OpCharlieHebdo #CharlieHebdo"
Such Web site was Ansar-alhaqq.net. The Web site suffered a down time for almost an hour before it got back up and running. The Anonymous Charlie Hebdo group is also responsible for the message that reads "expect a massive frontal reaction from us because the struggle for the defense of those freedoms is the foundation of our movement."
Will the cyber revenge by the Anonymous Charlie Hebdo group bring justice to the 12 individuals killed in the Paris massacre? For one, this is not the first time the group of hacktivisits have come forward. The group has managed to insert themselves into a number of conflicts around the world including incidences from USA to Israel.
The Anonymous Charlie Hebdo group's famous tag line goes: "We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us." Reports add that there has been no single group related to Anonymous. The group is simply composed of a number of individuals making the same statements and actions against terrorists by the use of social media.
