Apple Now Selling iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus Without SIM In Stores And Online

Apple is quite eager to boost its latest iPhones sales. Hence, starting today consumers can purchase contract-free iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets either online or in physical stores.

According to Gizmodo, the Cupertino-headquartered technology tycoon has already began selling SIM-free unlocked iPhones.

Buyers who will order their iPhones online are guaranteed to receive them in 3-5 business days.

Pricing is expected to remain the same for the most part. The 16GB base model for the iPhone 6 line and the iPhone 6 Plus costs $650 and $750, respectively.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 with the maximum storage option is valued at $849, while the iPhone 6 Plus with the largest memory option is priced at $949, reports 9to5mac.

What's good about unlocked smartphones is that users can easily activate them for use in any carrier, be it Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint.

Apple's decision to sell unlock iPhones came a little too late for both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus because of the relatively low supply compared to the skyrocketing demand.

Interestingly, since the launching of the two bigger iPhones last fall, other countries have already been enjoying the advantage of unlocked handsets.

T-Mobile's iPhones are known for nothing locked into any specific contract, but consumers cannot really purchase their iPhone 6 and or iPhone 6 Plus without SIM cards, Tech Crunch has learned.

Previously, Apple launched unlocked versions of the iPhone 5s and 5c two months after its initial launching in 2013. The same can be said of its iPhone 5 in 2012.

Despite being a favourable option for consumers who want to purchase iPhones without the need to be automatically tied up to a carrier, the selling of SIM-free iPhones also denotes that the latest iPhones have already been out for a while and are soon to be replaced by newer iterations.
