Tornado Mississippi - While the rest of the world celebrated the New Year with fireworks and flowing drinks, Mississippi didn't care much for celebrations as the weather was at its worst. Tornadoes had struck the South leaving extensive damages to properties.
Thankfully, the tornado Mississippi caused no injuries despite the damages. The wicked weather not only pelted down on Mississippi but in Texas as well. Four mobile homes located in Rose Hill were left battered by the storm.
"Thankfully, in all of this, there are no injuries reported anywhere," says Mississippi's Emergency Management Agency, Greg Flynn in a report by Clarion Ledger.
On the other hand, seven counties had reported a number of homes damaged by storms and tornado Mississippi. In Jefferson Davis County, two house fires were noted despite the bad weather.
While one of the tornado Mississippi was recorded in Rose Hill, another was reported in Lauderdale County. This was noted in the eastern part of the state where officials are still investigating the extent of the damage.
If tornado Mississippi has struck the south, far up north the New England County is dealing with heavy snow. Freezing rain is also expected in the area. According to meteorologists, residents should expect blasts of freezing arctic air in the weeks to come.
With the tornado Mississippi having ravaged the south, power outages should be expected in parts of the state and in some parts of Louisiana. The National Weather Service has continued to update residents throughout the area about the weather.
In relation to the tornado Mississippi, an elevated threat of an even more severe weather is expected in the area. The elevated threat involves a high chance of damaging winds, tornadoes, and hail. Flash floods due to rainfall is highly expected as well. Residents are advised to head out to the nearest evacuation center.
