Missing Ohio Toddler Found Dead After Mother Lied To Police? (VIDEO & REPORT)

Missing Found Dead Ohio - The 14-month-old toddler, who allegedly went missing for days, was found dead in an Ohio creek, reports NBC News.

According to reports about the missing toddler found dead in Ohio, the Maryland toddler was found dead Wednesday and authorities managed to get details where to find the young one when they found out that the mother had lied of leaving the boy on a stranger's porch.

Sgt. Rich Weiner, a Columbus police spokesman said they found the missing toddler's body in Big Walnut Creek. He was identified as Cameron Beckford.

Though the mother named Dainesha Stevens was not immediately linked to the death of the missing boy, she was held on $150,000 bond on charges of tampering evidence and endangering children.

Police said Stevens is being accused of allowing Beckford to be violently abused and for not doing anything when the boy was taken away, according to Baltimore Sun.

Two weeks ago, Stevens and her live-in boyfriend and Beckford's father, Frederick, had an argument. Following which, Stevens spent a night in a hotel along with her two kids.

Authorities, who were called to the scene that time, said that there was no sign of physical violence during the argument and that the children didn't show any sign of abuse.

On Monday, Stevens called 911 saying that a family would not return her daughter, 6, after she allowed her to play with the family's kids.

Authorities managed to retrieve her daughter and around that time Stevens said that she could not take care of her 14-month-old son that she decided to leave her on a doorstep of a nearby house.

However, Mark Collins - Stevens' attorney - said that the mother lied about the story as she was also the one who tipped where the boy's body could be found.

The body of the missing toddler was found at around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, along the creek near Groves Road.

Weiner said Frederick was supposed to pick up his daughter from Stevens and now he is tremendously sad over his son's death, Dispatch has learned.

"He is in town to pick up his 6-year-old, and now he's faced with the news of this," Weiner said.

It is still unclear what lead to the missing toddler's death, but local reports said Stevens may have allowed a friend to "violently spank" little Cameron. The friend is currently being held on other charges.

Collins said that Stevens is "distraught" over what happened, adding, "As you can understand she feels terrible about what occurred. However at the same time, she has liability and exposure for the situation she put her child in."
