Brooklyn Woman Falls From Ski Lift - A 44-year old woman from Brooklyn died of her injuries after falling 25 feet. The woman identified as Olga Filkin had fallen from a chairlift in Catskills Mountains, which is located at Hunter Mountain. Filkin died of her injuries from her fall around 2 pm on a Sunday.
Falkin, the Brooklyn woman fell from ski lift, was reportedly set to get off the lift when she accidentally slipped and fell. Reports by NBC New York state that she had fallen off the "D" life at around 2 pm. The "D" lift is one of the triple chairs that carries skiers from the base of Hunter Mountain to a halfway point up. She had fallen 22 feet off the ground and was around 100 feet up the chairlift when she accidently fell.
"She was getting ready to get off the chairlift and she fell," says coroner Hassan Basagic III in a report by Yahoo concerning the Brooklyn woman falls from ski lift. Falkin was reportedly alone when she took the chairlift at Hunter Mountain resort.
The results of alcohol and the drug tests are still pending but Basagic claims that this wouldn't be a concern involving the Brooklyn woman falls from ski lift. Even with immediate first aid by the resort officials, the woman was pronounced dead on the spot. Autopsy has been done at St. Peter's Hospital. Investigation continues regarding Falkin's fall.
