LA Police Officers Attacked - While the protests concerning cop cruelty remain to be the centre of attention worldwide, this has not stopped a few individuals from taking action against a few cops. Sunday night, two cops were involved in an "unprovoked attack" when two gunmen suddenly open fired on them.
The LA police officers attacked have survived the incident without any injuries noted. As for the gunmen involved in the incident, only one has been apprehended whereas the second gunman remains at large. The motive for the shooting has yet to be determined yet according to detective Meghan Aguilar, this could largely be linked to New York protests which involve cops.
"Obviously, with what happened in New York and what we know is the sentiment right now nationwide, in the mornings or in the evenings when you put on your uniform, you're very much aware that there are some currents of anger toward police," shares Aguilar in a report by FOX News. "We're aware that we could be a target for individuals that are angry at law enforcement right now."
With the tensions too high between cops and ordinary folk, it is still too early to determine if the LA police officer attacked Sunday is indeed related to the New York protest. This incident on the other hand is not the first.
Before the LA police officers attacked Sunday night, two police officers in New York City were killed after a gunman had open fired on them. The incident was reported more than a week ago.
As for the LA police officers attacked Sunday night, one of the gunmen has already been apprehended. The second gunman remains at large. Police officers have advised residents to stay indoors in a post on Facebook. Apart from New York protests asking for police cruelty to end, demonstrators in Los Angeles have peacefully asked for police tactic to end as these have led to unarmed individuals being shot.
