Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder requested for less scenes together in "The Vampire Diaries," International Business Times reported.
Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder allegedly asked their "The Vampire Diaries" producers for less screen time together. Dobrev is reportedly emotional in the set especially when her ex-boyfriend is around.
The brunette beauty has a difficult time covering up her ill feelings for Somerhalder that it is radiating in her character, Elena Gilbert. This has created problems for the show and the director and producers granted her request for fewer scenes with the actor.
A report from Celebrity Dirty Laundry says: "It's next to impossible to fake chemistry with someone you hate, although that hate sometimes comes across as a fiery passion on screen."
The former couple portrays as lovers in the "Vampire Diaries." The recent season coincidentally resembled the pair's falling out. Memories of Damon Salvatore played by Ian Somerhalder are being erased from Elena's mind, according to Christian Times.
Although they have been separated for quite a while, it does not help that the actor's new beau is Dobrev's former friend, Nikki Reed. The actor is very vocal about his relationship with Reed on social media and interviews. Somerhalder even brings her new girlfriend on the set of "Vampire Diaries."
"Ian and Nikki's relationship is causing a lot of drama, to the point where the producers have asked Ian not to bring Nikki to set when Nina is there because they are very worried about losing her," the report added.
The actor's inconsiderate attitude reportedly annoyed Dobrev since the actress chose to remain silent about her love life. Dobrev has been linked to Foster the People band member Mark Foster and "Vampire Diaries" co-star Chris Wood. However, the young actress has not admitted any romantic relationship with either of the two.
Although the former couple has clearly moved on with their separate lives, they still have loyal fans who call them "Delena." The loyal followers can still see Dobrev and Somerhalder in some scenes as "The Vampire Diaries" returns on Jan. 22, 2015.
