iPhone 6S Mini News: Apple Is Set To Release iPhone 6S Mini In 2015; Do Customers Prefer Smaller Phones?

iPhone 6S Mini is set to be released in 2015, Tech First Post reported.

Apple will reportedly release an iPhone 6S Mini in 2015. An insider from the company has revealed that the new device will have the same specifications with iPhone 5S and similar design with iPhone 6.

Apple analyst Timothy Acuri for research firm Cowenn and Company informed the investors that Apple is working on a 4-inch iPhone for 2015. The new device will reportedly have a new design with curved edges.

iPhone 6S mini will also allegedly feature a "purpose-built low cost components" from Qualcomm to make it more affordable. If Acuri's prediction will come true, the new device will replace Apple's current low-end handset, which is the iPhone 5c, according to International Business Times.

The iPhone 6S will most probably have different colors similar to the 5c. Since color trends are also changing as the years go by, the new colors will be updated according to current style. The 6S mini will also probably have a better camera and processor compared to 5c, according to Mac World.

iPhone 6's 5.44 inches and iPhone 6 Plus' 6.22 inches size may have answered the requests for a bigger display. However, some users still prefer a smaller and handier phone.

Kantar Worldpanel analyst Carolina Milanesi has confirmed that users are still into smaller handsets when she discussed the smartphone sales growth last September.

"The bulk of the growth [has been] in the below 5-inch screen [sector]," Milanesi said.

Multinational companies such as Samsung have released smaller versions of some of their units. The company created smaller Galaxy S series to cater to customers who prefer pocket friendly phones.

It is no surprise if Apple will follow Samsung's footsteps by releasing iPhone 6S mini. Apple has to cater to customers who prefer smaller handsets, Tech Times reported.

Releasing smaller and cheaper models will also pave the way for Apple to get into big markets such as China, India and Africa.

As of this time, loyal Apple users are waiting for the company's official statement about the iPhone 6S Mini.
