Threat To Mississippi Bridge Passed To Memphis Police; FBI Says ISIS Will Blow Up Bridge To Activate Sleepers In US

Threat to Mississippi Bridge was one thing that the FBI has warned the local authorities about. According to the investigators, there was a threat that the Islamic State was going to blow up the Memphis and Arkansas Bridge that spans the famous river.

This is bridge is a significant route that connects Arkansas and Tennessee. According to FBI spokesman, Chris Allen, the Federal Bureau of Investigation passed the threat to Mississippi's local police in a bulletin out of an "abundance of caution."

Allen said, "This is an unsubstantiated, anonymous threat." He also added that, to date, there has been no useful intelligence that rose from the threat. He did not divulge any details regarding how or when the threat from the ISIS was received, but the threat to Mississippi Bridge was reported in Memphis through Fox 13 News.

As quoted by the TV station, the Islamic State had reportedly instructed a person who lives in Memphis "to blow up the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge on an unknown date, activating ISIS terror cells in the United States."

The Islamic State, more famous referred to as the ISIS, is an internationally popular terrorist group that has successfully seized massive swaths of both Syria and Iraq and has declared a sovereign state.

Fox 13 News got hold of the FBI bulletin, and it said, "According to an anonymous complainant, as of December 2014, ISIS instructed an ISIS member, a presumed US person in Memphis, with a direct order to blow up the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge on an unknown date, activating ISIS terror cells in the United States."

A representative of Memphis Police have confirmed that their officers are now giving the area around the bridge even more attention because of the reported threat to Mississippi Bridge. Plus they have also installed round-the-clock surveillance cameras for monitoring purposes.
