Aaron Rodgers was not present during the full session practice of the Packers on Wednesday. Still, despite his absence, the team has had him long enough that coach Mike McCarthy feels positive about the condition of his quarterback.
Sadly, Aaron Rodgers injured his calf during the game against the Buccaneers last weekend. Their QB's injury compelled the team to make some changes to their offensive plan. The calf injury placed some limits to Rodgers's mobility.
He is still being treated for his condition, but it would seem that McCarthy is confident everything was well when Rodgers was on the field with the rest of the Packers.
McCarthy said through the team's official website, "Aaron's plan today, he did all the pre-practice work and no-huddle, and then we had a segment he was able to get some rehab done. Then, he went back outside for the team 11-on-11 stuff. He got done what he needed to get done today. He's getting better. He threw the ball around."
Since there is a division title on the line, surely, it would take an injury more serious than the one he presently has with his calf for Aaron Rodgers to miss out on the game against the Lions on Sunday. There has been no news that his calf condition is a serious one, which is pretty great news for the team's chances for a fourth straight NFC North crown.
Additionally, despite some limits to his mobility, the injury did not prevent Aaron Rodgers from playing Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. His offensive linemen, including the reserves, practice squad players and the backup quarterbacks went to Lambeau Field and found some surprises for them.
The famous Pro Bowl quarterback gave them each 55-inch Samsung curved smart TVs, Beats headphones, and tablet computers. He surprised his team mates by placing these gifts inside their lockers.
