Pakistan School Bus Attack - Hundreds are still outraged over the news that broke out mid of Dec. A group of men had open fired in a school killing more than 140 people. While the Pakistani Taliban had taken responsibility for the massacre, arrests made by officials have yet to confirm the identity of those involved.
The attack at Peshawar school continues to be mourned by people around the world. Only a few boys from the school had survived. The attack by alleged Taliban members took the life of 141 individuals. 132 of these were only children.
"This is an unspeakable atrocity," says Omar Waraich, adding that today's society is "horror-hardened." "We never imagined a war against children was ever possible."
Prior to the Pakistan school bus attack that claimed the lives of 141 people, more than 40 thousand people have been murdered brutally by militant groups since the year 2001. Pakistan has since joined the "war on terror" that has shook the globe.
Pakistani officials on the other hand have announced early on Sunday that arrests have been made regarding the Pakistan school bus attack. They however refused to confirm the affiliation and identity of those arrested.
"Quite a few suspects who were facilitators in one way or the other have been taken into custody," says Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Terrorists linked to the Pakistan school bus attack are not only targeting military personnel but their children as well. Such attack is a "retaliation" for the 1,200 of their members murdered early in June.
With the Pakistan school bus attack having shocked not only residents of the country but of the world, will this push forward a significant change? The cold-blooded murder will surely not give anyone clarity to understanding the actions of the Taliban.
Despite Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousufzai's call for action to hoping the attacks stop, the Pakistan school bus attack is proof that Taliban has other plans in mind.
