Chris Kyle death happened last year. He was the deadliest sniper in the history of the United States and Bradley Cooper was honored to have been chosen to portray his life in director Clint Eastwood's "American Sniper."
The star of "Guardians of the Galaxy" admitted that he worked extremely hard to shape up for the role, but the real challenge with the movie was taking on the intensity and the emotion that were associated with Kyle's character.
The decorated Navy SEAL served four tours in Iraq before he returned to his home. However, the wars that he had to fight, sadly, did not end for him when he was honorably discharged. He struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder, otherwise coined as PTSD, when he got home from the front lines of war.
Still, despite his struggles, he was able to overcome everything and even helped other veteran soldiers get over their own trauma. Sadly, he was killed last year.
"It was just an honor," Cooper shared to the reports at the New York City premiere of "American Sniper" on Monday. He even referred to the role as "the benefit of being an actor."
Chris Kyle death left his widow pushing back against Jesse Ventura, telling Gretchen Carlson that she will have to pay out of her own pocket. Ventura won a defamation lawsuit against her late husband. Since Kyle died, many have publicly criticized Ventura for continuing with the lawsuit. However, he did maintain that insurance companies should pay the award, and not the family that Kyle has left behind after his death.
Taya Kyle had an exclusive interview with "The Real Story." According to her, despite what Ventura has claimed, she will, indeed, have to pay a huge portion of the $1.8 million verdict. "Absolutely, I think insurance is responsible for $500,000 because of the way the law is written."
The case has remained in the courts after Kyle's attorneys asked that the verdict be dismissed. A Minnesota federal jury sided with Ventura over the summer, deciding that Kyle resorted to libel against the former governor of the state.
