Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 has been anticipated after its predecessor's successful sales and critics hinted that the device will be Samsung's "slimmest" yet, according to The Fuse Joplin.
Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 has been considered one of the best-selling smartphones of the company, Phone Arena reported. Thus, smartphone critics would suggest that a new addition to the Galaxy Grand series would be awaited.
As a matter of fact, China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center has reportedly approved a new Samsung handset dubbed as SM-G7200. It has been assumed that the device will later be called Samsung Galaxy Grand 3.
The mobile gadget supposedly sports an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors, according to the specifications given by GSM Arena. Although the specs reveal the phone to sport a 5.5-inch screen, the approved SM-G7200 has been reported to have a 5.25-inch display running at 1280x720 resolution.
The upcoming Galaxy Grand device measures 146 x 74.8 x 7.95 mm, and weighs 140 grams. This is considered to be thinner and lighter than the previous Galaxy Grand phone which measures 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm, and weigh 163 grams.
Reports claimed that the phone will run on Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chip and quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex A53.
The rear camera is supposedly a 13MP shooter with autofocus and LED flash, while its front camera is at 5MP. The features included, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama.
Despite the latest release of Android, the device is rumored to run with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, Master Herald reported. This can be an indication that the company doesn't have a plan to make the Galaxy Grand phones high-end. Users have received the news with disappointment.
The price may be the same with Galaxy Grand 2 when it was first released, despite the rumors about the operating system used.
Samsung Galaxy Grand 3 was expected to be released this month, but Samsung hasn't made an official announcement about the launch yet. To remain in the competitive smartphone market, critics believe that the device has to be out before the end of the year, according to The Fuse Joplin.
