Stephen Collins Child Molester? ‘7th Heaven’ Actor Finally Admits Inappropriate Contact With Underage Girls, Says ‘I Want People To Know The Truth’

Actor Stephen Collins a child molester? The pastor father of the famous "7th Heaven" family-oriented series has finally come into terms that his dark secret is finally out.

"Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since," Collins told People in a statement. "As difficult as this is, I want people to know the truth."

Collins admission to child molestation comes after accusations against him emerged back in October. That time TMZ released an audio recording - made by Collins' then-wife, Faye Grant - where the 67-year-old Hollywood actor gushed on making sexual contact with underage girls.

The dirty deeds reportedly happened from 1973 to 1994 and more details were divulged in the recording that was supposed to be a confidential tool for a therapy session.

Collins insisted that the recording was made without his and his therapist's knowledge and consent, according to TV Guide. It wasn't also clear how TMZ got the confidential audio.

"On the recording, I described events that took place 20, 32, and 40 years ago," the actor explained. "The publication of the recording has resulted in assumptions and innuendos about what I did that go far beyond what actually occurred."

Despite Stephen Collins child molestation admission, he maintained that he has already reached out to the then-underage girls, Fox News has learned.

He said that 15 years ago, he already begged for forgiveness from one on the three girls and that she was "extraordinarily gracious."

On the other hand, he couldn't say the same for the other two since he has been requested not to approach them or he "could actually make things worse for them by opening old wounds."
