"Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare" has been distinguished from other third-person shooting games because of the "bright and playful" environment the game has to offer, according to GameSpot.
The PopCap-developed game has become an online competition between "Plants vs. Zombies" fans. It introduces four player co-op mode and allows 24 players to engage in a competitive game mode. With its cartoonish theme, the game is supposed to have properly delivered "charming" characters with fun modes to play with, IGN reviewed.
"Garden Warfare" has been designed as a team-based multi-player game, where players can choose to play solo or with other players. There are two sides to choose from, as suggested by the game's title: plants and zombies. The gameplay is also class-based. Each side has different abilities for different classes, which create balance in the game, according to GameSpot.
One of the game's strength is supposedly its "variety in everything," PC Gamer reviewed. The players are given the chance to customize their own characters in the game. There are also 11 maps to choose from. Every battle is considered a "new spectacle of goofy scenes" as various teams are created.
However, not all gamers are amused with the multi-player third-person shooter game. The classes presented are considered "very basic" and the game types are insufficient. Eleven critics have reviewed the game and totaled a score of 78 out of 100 on Metacritic. Ninety-three users have mixed or average reviews with 6.8 out of 10 rating.
"Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare" has been out since February this year. It has been normally sold for $40, but Origin has offered the digital deluxe edition of the game for only $29.26 and $25.26 for the standard PC download. The game is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
