Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev Fake Feud For 'Vampire Diaries' Rating To Go Up?

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev might have gotten along back when they were still romantically linked. Yet, this doesn't seem to be the case nowadays. The two are reportedly feuding on the set of "Vampire Diaries" which could ultimately lead to the series end.

Adding fuel to the fire of the alleged feud between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev is Nikki Reed. Reed had started dating Somerhalder after the latter split up with Dobrev. To make things worse, Reed has made constant appearances on the set of "Vampire Diaries." With the two rolling in on PDA, Dobrev has reportedly had enough.

In fact, sources claim that the growing tension between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev has turned into hate. Their romance scenes for the television series lack the usual steam and things have been awkward for everyone on set.

With the tension between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev on "Vampire Diaries," some fans of the show think this could pave way to another pair off in the series. Somerhalder, who plays the part of Damon, admitted that his character could more or less fall for Bonnie, played by Kat Graham.

"There's an extraordinarily thin line between love and hate," shares Somerhalder in a report by TVLine. "Due to the fact that these two hated each other, and had so many connections ... it only seemed appropriate that they would be given a chance, due to the dynamics of their relationship."

Yet, with the growing reports of tension on set due to Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, the feud is allegedly fake. According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the fight between the former lovers was to simply increase the ratings of the show.

This wouldn't be the least bit surprising given there have already been rumours about the series set to end. Could Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's alleged fight on set lead to more viewers or the show's untimely end?
