The 5-inch devices are both manufactured from the same company but which smartphone has an advantage over the other?
Despite coming from the same manufacturer, these LG-made devices actually have "quite a lot of difference," Stuff reported.
Although both screens are around 5 inches, the Google Nexus 5 has a rubbery, matte-finish backside with the "Nexus" logo written on it. LG G2, on the other hand, has a glossy plastic rear with a camera mounted at the center. Below the camera is the power/volume control button.
The Nexus 5 is a slightly lighter compared to LG G2, with 130 grams versus 143 gram. Both devices are 9mm in depth but Nexus 5 is considered more pocket friendly, according to Stuff.
The LG G2 features a 5.2in full HD display with a pixel density of 423ppi, while the Nexus 5 has a 4.95in full HD screen with 445ppi. Both are sratch-resistant with LG G2 using Gorilla Glass 2 and Nexus 5 using Gorilla Glass 3. Although it's a big difference, users will most likely not notice, according to Android Central. The G2 also offers better viewing angles compared to Nexus 5.
Both LG devices run on the same quad-core 2.26 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU. They also have 2GB of RAM and 16GB and 32GB models, which come as built-in storage. NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 are also integrated in the phones. Although users might want to take note that G2 supports Low Energy. G2 also features an IR blaster, which can be used with an app to act as a remote control for other devices.
When it comes to battery life, G2 has an advantage with 3,000mAh Lithium-Ion Polymer battery, which can last for 19 hours in normal usage. Nexus 5 also has a Lithium-Ion Polymer battery but it only has a capacity of 2,3000mAh.
Regarding camera specs, G2 camera is better at taking shots than Nexus 5's, according to Android Central. G2 has 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera while Nexus 5 only has 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. Both offer optical image stabilization, but Nexus has a video light, according to Phone Arena.
