Guard, Bus Passenger Vegas - A public transit passenger was killed after he opened fire on the Las Vegas Strip, Fox News has learned.
Authorities said it was a security guard who fatally shot the man, who was kicked out of his ride earlier.
As per several Guard, Bus Passenger Vegas reports, the guard was wounded by the bus passenger when he opened fire at about 2 a.m. Monday in the heart of the tourist district.
Following the shooting, part of the Strip was closed from vehicles while authorities were carrying out an investigation.
Based on the investigators' statement, the bus passenger was asked to get off the vehicle for causing major disturbance throughout the ride.
A security officer, who was contracted by the Regional Transportation Commission, was reportedly the one who had asked the passenger to exit the bus, reports HeraldNet.
However, instead of taking things lightly, the passenger quickly pulled a handgun, shot the security guard multiple times before firing towards the streets.
Apparently, the officer managed to shot back, and he even fatally wounded the suspect of the Guard, Bus Passenger Vegas story.
When responding authorities came, they found both men lying on the sidewalk.
Lt. Dennis O'Brien said that the officer was transported to a nearby hospital and though he obtained a lot of injuries, none of them were life-threatening. Hence, he is now in stable condition.
Regional Transportation Commission General Manager Tina Quigley refused to comment on the Guard, Bus Passenger Vegas Run-in, claiming that it's too early for such since the investigation is still ongoing.
Nevertheless, according to ABC News, the agency issued a statement to express their condolences to the loved ones of both the security officer and the passenger.
