Set in the American capitol, BTS (Burger, Tap, and Shake) is the stop for anyone looking for burgers, taps and shakes. With a quaint atmosphere and cheap food, BTS is a great local stop for anyone visiting or living in Washington D.C.
Located in the historic district of Foggy Bottom, BTS is a great no-frill spot to dine if you are looking for a burger. The restaurant is a part of the DC Passion Foods Restaurant group and is a great spot for lunch or dinner.
Whether you are dining in or taking out, the restaurant is convenient for anyone. There are tables inside, along with a bar for dining. You can also order take out if you are too busy to stay.
What do you order? Well, it really is all in the name. You can order burgers, taps, and shakes. For burgers, you can order anything from a "Six Buck Chuck," which is just an original build your own burger to the "SoCal Pilgrim," a turkey burger with avocado, greens, tomatoes, onions, and chipotle ranch on a whole wheat bun. There is also a "Southern Comfort" burger with pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, onions and pickles. If you are a vegetarian, try the "Haight-Ashbury" with falafel, pickled vegetables, feta, and cilantro.
If you are not feeling a burger, you can try one of the house salads or dine on fresh made fries.
As far as taps go, try a fresh pint from the bar. You can have everything from the DC Brau "The Corruption" IPA to a pint of the Victory Donnybrook Stout from Pennsylvania. BTS also has local cider on tap and a good can selection. They try to keep the brews as local as possible, so do not expect to find any Bud Light here. Try ordering a side of sweet potato fries to have along side your brew for a good evening.
If you are not in the mood for a "tap," try the shakes. You can have a candy bar, double espresso, or even a plain vanilla shake. If you are really in the mood, try an alcoholic shake. BTS serves a "Stag Party" shake that has bourbon, cherry liqueur, and vanilla ice cream and a "Apocalypto," shake with Fireball whisky, marshmallows, and chocolate ice cream.
If all of that sounds delicious, make sure to check out BTS. It is open Monday through Thursday, 10am-11pm and Friday and Saturday until 1am. It is perfect if you want to get a late bite to eat or even just a lunch with a colleague. If you are visiting DC, BTS is a great stop before visiting the White House or the Lincoln Memorial.
