Tris is back and the movie is expected to be filled with action as the new trailer features a twist that fans should anticipate: Tris vs. another Tris.
The new "Insurgent" movie features Shailene Woodley, as she reprises her role in the second installment and sequel to "The Divergent Series," according to Movie News Guide.
A "Insurgent" trailer has been released this week, showing action-packed scenes. The two and a half minute trailer showed Tris and her friends running away from the Erudite faction. The video clip also showed a team composed of the Factionless opposing against Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) and Woodley's character, Tris, fighting against herself.
Tris lives in a dystopian future, where the citizens are categorized based on their character attributes. Tris is considered a "divergent," someone who doesn't fit into any of the categories. She and her fellow "divergents" struggle to escape from the clutches of Jeanine, the leader of the Erudite fraction.
The "Insurgent" film intends to portray Tris' desire to get information about the Erudite's insurrection and the Abnegation. Tris and Four (Theo James) is supposed to race against time as they try to figure out what the Abnegation sacrificed their lives for and the intentions of the Erudite fraction. Tris faces another obstacle in the movie as she unlocks the truth about the past and the future.
Meanwhile, "Divergent" fans might notice that Tris has a "pixie cut" in the trailer, even though the character in the book was described to have a longer hairstyle, according to CNN.
It is reported that Woodley requested director Robert Schwentke to keep her naturally short hair instead of wearing a wig for the film. Woodley has cut her hair for her role in another novel adaptation, "The Fault in Our Stars."
"I think wigs always look wiggy, especially in an action movie," Woodley told Buzzfeed.
Lucy Fisher, Pouya Shabazian and Douglas Wick produced the "Divergent" series while Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldsman are the brains behind the screenplay. Schwentke has replaced Neil Burger as the director, since Burger will serve as the executive producer of the film.
The first film adaptation of Veronica Roth's "Divergent" novels became one of the most popular movies in Hollywood after grossing more than $150 million at the domestic box office, CNN reported.
"The Divergent Series: Insurgent" will hit the theaters on Mar. 20, 2015.
