iPad Air 3 Rumors: Find Out Expected Release Date, Specs, Features

iPad Air 3 won't be coming out soon, but Apple users have already posted their expectations of the upcoming device.

The successor of the recently released iPad Air 2 has become the topic of users awaiting for Apple's next flagship. Some users have assumed that the next iPad will be dubbed iPad Air 3, while others speculated iPad 7.

Apple has been reducing the depth of their devices, with the first iPad Air at 7.5mm thick and the new iPad Air 2 at 6.1mm. Critics, however, find another reduction unnecessary for the next iPad. The current flagship seemed delicate and fragile with its thickness at the moment that users are "nervous about its toughness," according to MacWorld.

The new iPad Air has gotten the new processor chip A8x, which is an upgrade of iPhone 6's A8. A8x has three "Enhanced Cyclone" CPU scores and 2MB of L2 cache, which makes the chip faster than iPad Air 1's A7 chip, according to AnandTech. Although the A8x has already offered a robust speed for the device, iPad users would still be expecting an upgrade by the time iPad Air 3 will be released.

The screen is also expected to have a boost in resolution. With Apple mentioning the anti-reflective coating on their devices, the users will be anticipating one on the third iPad Air.

The new features in the iPad Air 2's camera, such as burst mode, panoramas up to 43Mp, slo-mo and time-lapse, are also assumed to be carried over to the next device. There hasn't been an announcement from Apple regarding an increase in megapixel rating for their cameras. However, if the next device will upgrade to such level, users would be thrilled about it.

There are no proper predictions about the price yet but iPad users have assumed that it will cost the same as the iPad Air 2's current price.

iPad Air 3 will most likely be released on the same month as iPad Air 2 the following year. The current iPad Air release has been launched on Oct. 16 this year at Apple's Cupertino campus in California. iPad Air 1 was also released on October so reviewers believe that Apple will follow the trend.
