LeBron James Knee Injury Placed Basketball Star On The Bench In Cavs-Thunder Game; OKC Wins By Nine Points

LeBron James knee soreness compelled Cleveland Cavaliers coach, David Blatt, to keep him on the bench. The Cabs lost to Oklahoma Thunder in the latter's home court on Thursday at 103-94.

Although the basketball star had to sit out the game, Blatt did mention before the game started that he does not believe LeBron James knee issue is serious. Still, he decided to hold James out as a precautionary measure. Moreover, Blatt also mentioned that James is day-to-day and that it remains unclear if he will be able to play against the Pelicans on Friday.

The soreness actually originates from the back of James's left knee. Also, the basketball star apparently first started to feel the discomfort around that area after the Cavs won against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.

"Nothing major," Blatt said regarding LeBron James knee condition. "Again, not a serious problem. We'll monitor it. We'll treat him and we'll see how he's feeling tomorrow." At this point, Blatt has no intentions of having James undergo an MRI for his knee injury.

Since James had to sit out the Cavs-Thunder game, Matthew Dellavedova was put in his place as the backup point guard. Blatt decided to move Kyrie Irving to the shooting guard position and Shawn Marion to small forward.

Sadly for Irving, he had an injury scare when he had an in-game collision with Russell Westbrook. After bumping into each other, Irving crumpled to the floor as his left knee looked like it bent inward late during the first half. He was immediately helped up and assisted off the court and into the locker room.

Fortunately for Irving, and for the Cavs as well, he was already able to get back in the game by the second half.

The Cavs were reigning the court with the team's eight-game winning streak. Sadly, however, the streak was ended on Thursday when Westbrook led the Thunder to a nine-point victory.
