She was pretty young when she first entered show business, having become a beauty queen at a young age of 21.

The amazingly beautiful native from Brandon, Mississippi served her year term as Miss America before pursuing acting. She worked for quite a few years on the stage before she even landed her first film gig. She had TV roles alongside Betty Grable in "Guys and Dolls" before she landed "Girl Happy" with Presley in 1965.

She was with the King once again in yet another 1965 flick, "Harum Scarum." She even took home the Golden Globe award as the Most Promising Newcomer for that year.

Mobley passed away on Tuesday morning inside her house in Beverly Hills. According to her family, her cause of death was the series of complications that she had as brought about by her breast cancer.

Sam Haskell, the Chairman and Chief Exec of the Miss America Organization, said, "When I was a little boy growing up in Mississippi, there were two Mississippi stars whom I idolized. One was Elvis Presley and the other was Mississippi's first Miss America Mary Ann Mobley."

Gary Collins married Mary Ann Mobley eventually after the two met on the set of "Three on A Couch," which was a movie directed by Jerry Lewis in 1966. There was even a time when she was a co-host during the 1989 Miss America Pageant, together with her husband, who was also known as the master of ceremonies for the show in 1985, 1990, and 1991.
