The Voice had one of the show's wildest nights on Tuesday when it brought back the candidates who have been previously eliminated from the Top 12. The artists were given one last opportunity to perform in front of the audience to earn the newly created fourth wild card spot in the show's finale episode which will be airing next week.
This switch-up meant that, for once in the history of The Voice, its host, Carson Daly, did not waste time in revealing The Voice 3 finalists who are to advance to the finale of the singing competition.
The love-hate relationship between country music icon Blake Shelton and Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine is not a secret to anyone. Moreover, it would appear that these two frenemies are about to go head-to-head once again.
Craig Wayne Boyd of Team Blake and Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison of Team Adam will be battling for the winning spot next week. Jamison, on the other hand, was the recipient of the Twitter instant save which was finalized during the previous week.
This means that only Shelton and Levine, the two veteran coaches of The Voice, will have guaranteed spots into the finale. Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani, who are coaching on the show for their first time, can only hope that the wild card save can get to keep them in the game.
The plot thickens, however, when the wild card save twist, is given yet another twist. Unlike in the previous weeks, the candidate who will be getting the wild card save will not be immediately determined by votes on Twitter.
Instead, viewers had until 3:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday to cast their votes before Daly made the official announcement regarding the wild card winner. Daly was already scheduled to make the announcement live on the "Today" show on Wednesday morning.
