The "Sons of Anarchy" has said their goodbyes to their fans, with a finale that led to a character's death.
Fans of "Sons of Anarchy" have dedicated 113 minutes of their lives Tuesday night, making the finale episode the most-watched episode of the show, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Around 6.4 million viewers watched the series finale of "Sons of Anarchy," which nearly tied with CBS' annual presentation of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
The last episode presented the death of Jackson "Jax" Teller, which was portrayed by Charlie Hunnam. Seventy-two percent of the fans have anticipated the death in a poll conducted by Entertainment Weekly.Twenty-five percent of which has correctly predicted that Jax would commit suicide on his father's bike. Jax drove the bike to collide with the "Papa's Goods" truck, which Milo was driving at that moment. "Papa's Goods" was also the title of the final episode.
Executive producer Paris Barclay explained the show's ending during an interview with E! Online. He was asked what surprised him the most about the fans reaction about the finale.
"What surprised me the most is when they disliked it," Barclay answered. "What I hear in their voice is largely the sadness of losing these characters and their expectation that Jax would die and their disappointment that that's what actually happened."
Some viewers made an argument that Jax may have successfully honored his father but he has failed to do so when it came to his sons, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"Sons of Anarchy" premiered on Sept. 3, 2008. The series lasted for seven seasons. It has also been nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Drama at the 2010 TCA Awards. A video game has been developed to pay tribute to the show. It was released in October 2014 for Android and iOS devices, but not for gaming console.
There have been reports that suggested a prequel of the show, introducing the origin of the club. The production team has yet to confirm this report.
