Shazam has expanded its reach to bring music lovers the content that they deserve with their latest update.
Shazam has officially announced their revamped music app with Spofity and Rdio integration Wednesday, according to Gizmodo.
The announcement of Shazam's new features is supposed to change the way users interact with the application in listening to music. Shazam's chief product officer Daniel Danker has stated on their official press release that the application is aimed to become the main choice of music fanatics when streaming music
"We want Shazam to continue to serve as a destination for music fans, increasingly becoming the center of their music world," Danker said. "For years, Shazam has identified music with just one tap. Now it's just as easy to open Shazam and tap once to discover and listen to great music."
One of the biggest features that Shazam has added is the ability of Spotify and Rdio subscribers to connect their accounts to the app. Users can now listen to their tagged songs, in addition to the featured hits provided by Shazam. This feature is only available, however, for paid Spotify and Rdio subscriptions. Spotify hasn't made the integration on Android yet.
The update also included Shazam's personalized music news, featuring real-time trending music. Users can also watch Shazam sessions, interviews and more. The app is also capable of presenting expanded charts, which provides visualization about the songs that are rising on trend across genres and countries around the globe.
Furthermore, Shazam has launched its "Hall of Fame," which features most Shazam-ed artists. The tracks are ranked in Platinum (15 Shazams), Gold (10 Shazams) and Silver (5 Shazams) categories. As of the moment, the Hall of Fame has presented four Platinum artists: Avicii for "Wake Me Up"; Gotye for "Somebody That I Used to Know"; "Robin Thicke (feat T.I. & Pharrell) for Blurred Lines"; and Passenger for "Let Her Go," The Verge reported.
Shazam has been downloaded over 500 million times and more than 100 million monthly active users are using Shazam to get updates from the music world.
