Google Great Shopping Festival News: Amazon, eBay, Croma Offer Tech Deals

Google has launched its Great Shopping Festival this year and the best electronic devices are up for grabs.

Google made partnerships with the major online stores to bring the best deals to online shoppers for the Great Shopping Festival 2014 launch on Tuesday, Gadgets reported.

Most of the largest e-commerce online shopping sites joined the fest to promote their products. These included Amazon, eBay, Croma, SnapDeal, PayTM, Jabong and more. The sales last for 72 hours which started on Tuesday midnight.

Amazon is offering discounts on their Kindle devices. The all-new Kindle, 6-inch glare-free touchscreen display with WiFi is sold for only Rs 4,999, which is about $80. Kindle Paperwhite, on the other hand, is available for Rs 8,999 ($144.50) from Rs 10,999 ($176). Customers can save Rs 2,000 (arount $32) in buying Kindle Paperwhite with 3G, which now costs $11,999 (around $192). The Prev-Gen Kindle is available for Rs 4,999 (around $80).

Amazon has also offered 13% discount on Xbox One console, which normally costs Rs 39,999 (around $640). Customers can buy it for only Rs 34,999 (around $561) during the festival.

Deals on iPhones are also featured on Amazon. The Apple iPhone 5c has been reduced to Rs 22,999 (around $370) from Rs 37,500 (around $602). Customers can buy the smartphone in blue, white and green variant.

eBay has also joined the deals by offering discounts on their mobile devices. Some of their best deals are HTC Desire 816G, which is sold for Rs 14,779 (around $237) from Rs 20,490 ($329), Apple iPod 16GB Touch, which now costs Rs 12,522 (around $200) from Rs 15,900 (around $255), and Nokia X Plus, which customers can purchase for Rs 4,793 (around $77) instead of the original price of Rs 9,449 (around $150).

Croma, on the other hand, is selling their iPad minis for Rs 17,900 (around $287) from the original price of Rs 21,900 (around $350). They are also offering their iPad Air MD785HN for Rs 28,900 (around $465) from Rs 35,900 (around $575). The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, which normally costs Rs 22,110 (around $355), can now be purchased for only Rs 15,999 (around $255).

The company has started the GOSF in 2012, where 90 merchants participated. In 2013, the number increased to 250 merchants and this year, Google has partnered with 450 merchants. Google India's director for e-commerce and online classifieds Nitin Bawankule shared the company's objectives for the festival.

" This is because of the heightened interest and activity and the idea is to spread the message of online shopping across the country," Bawankule said. "With this, we want to bring many first time online shoppers to the industry."

The GOSF will end at exactly Thursday midnight.
