Indiana Granny Fights Off Carjackers, Escapes From Pistol-Wielding Teens [VIDEO]

Indiana granny fights off carjackers Sunday around 8 p.m., according to an IMPD police report. The Indiana granny fights off carjackers and refused to back down in the face of pistol-whipping thugs after they pointed the weapon in her face.

Kay Kise, 67, was returning from her Christmas shopping, with her parked in front of her house in the 200 block of North Randolph Street in Indianapolis when the crime took place, reports NBC News.

Before the incident where the Indiana granny fights off carjackers, the elderly lady said three men approached her asking for directions. One pulled out a gun and put it to her face. The men then began demanding the keys to her van. Despite clearly being outnumbered and unarmed, Kise refused back down.

When one of the assailants whipped out a silver gun and shoved it in her face demanding her keys, the Indiana granny fights off carjackers.

"He said, 'I said give me the keys.' The gun was a big silver gun and it's got a big ol' hole in the end of it. But when he pointed it right at my nose, I just slapped it," Kise said.

The Indiana granny fights off carjackers by saying, "You're not taking my car."

"I know it's just a vehicle but it's the only thing I got and I don't have no money to buy another one with. So they weren't going to take it from me," Kise added.

The man then hit her with the pistol, knocking her unconscious against her van. As the robbers pistol-whipped Kise, her cries fortunately caught the attention of a young neighbor. The neighbour rushed to help, which sent the suspects fleeing.

Kise was left with bruises and a shattered cheek bone after the Indiana granny fights off carjackers. After regaining consciousness, the band of carjackers was gone.

"I'm so grateful for my neighbors next door for coming out and helping me last night. I'm telling you I really truly am," she said.

"That could have been my grandma. And that's wrong, so I helped her out," said the neighbour, who wanted to remain unidentified for safety reasons.

Kise's granddaughters said they knew their grandma was strong willed, but even they were surprised that the Indiana granny fights off carjackers and was able to survive the ordeal.

"Any other person would probably have kind of clammed up and gave up them the keys," granddaughter Ashley Howard said.

Kise was taken to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital and was released Monday morning, according to WISHTV.com.

After the Indiana granny fights off carjackers, the confrontation has left her with serious injuries including a swollen eye, broken bones in her face and bleeding on the brain. However, Kise told NBC station WTHR that she is just happy the suspects didn't get her wheels.

"I don't hurt nobody," Kise said. "I don't understand why children hurt me."

Meanwhile, police are still looking for the suspects, ABC 7 reports. They still don't have a description of the attackers, and stated that they appeared to be teenagers with offenses including robbery and battery.

Kise's case was one of 12 batteries reported within a mile of her home in the past week, according to the city's crime tracker website.
