88 Tauri: Lamborghini Introduces $6,000 Phone; Is it Better Than iPhone and Samsung?

For people who don't mind spending thousands of dollars for a phone, Lamborghini has the perfect phone for you.

Tonino Lamborghini Group has officially launched their $6,000 88 Tauri phone, Engadget reported.

Lamborghini doesn't seem to compete against leading smartphone giants regarding sales after they released the very expensive 88 Tauri. Besides, the company only made 1,974 units of the luxurious phone.

The main highlight of the device is its steel and leather design. It is speculated that Lamborghini enthusiasts would be interested in purchasing it. Supposed the customer is capable of buying a Lamborghini itself, spending $6000 for 88 Tauri won't be a problem.

Just as the rumors expected, the phone sports a 5-inch 1080p display with oleophobic coating. This means users can handle the phone without worrying about smudges, according to Phone Arena. It also features Gorilla Glass 3 layer and a 10-point touch panel.

The device runs in a quad-core, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM to enhance multitasking. The device has a 20MP rear camera with a dual LED flash and an 8MP selfie shooter at the front. The device is using the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat, which is presumed to be the stock version of the OS.

88 Tauri is LTE-enabled and allows dual SIMs. The SIMs can be active at the same time. This gives the user the ability to simultaneously use LTE with one of the SIM and converse with someone through a phone call with the other. This feature, apparently, has been integrated into all Qualcomm chipsets since Snapdragon 801, but not all manufacturers make use of it.

Furthermore, the device has a 3,400mAH battery that is capable of providing the user 35 hours of call and 1,000 hours of standby time.

The company produced 1,947 units since Tonino Lamborghini was born in 1947. Mr. Lamborghini is the son of Ferruccio Lamborghini and the owner of the Lamborghini Group.

Customers may pre-order the limited, expensive smartphone by the end of the year, according to CBR.
