Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Review: Video Game Compiles Two Kingdom Hearts Titles

The holiday fun is doubled after Square Enix featured two of the best "Kingdom Hearts" games in one.

The action-packed adventures of Sora and his friends are rekindled in the new "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX," according to IGN.

Featuring 2005's "Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix" and 2010's "Birth by Sleep," the latest "Kingdom Hearts" release offers the HD remakes of the two games. Square Enix, the mind behind the "Kingdom Hearts" series, released "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX" to make way for the anticipated third installment of Kingdom Hearts.

"Kingdom Hearts 2.5" has been reviewed to feature the best versions of the two best games in the series, presenting better visuals, music and amusing high-level challenges. The game is supposed to enthuse gamers who haven't played any "Kingdom Hearts" game.On the other hand, other critics have considered it as a great "review" on why "Kingdom Hearts" fans should still wait for "Kingdom Hearts 3," according to Game Trailers.

The game has also successfully featured the three playable protagonists. Although there are familiarities in playing each campaign, the storyline of each character is different from the other. Players are encouraged to try all three campaigns to get the full picture.

While reviewers expressed their disappointment of the selection of games in the first HD collection in "Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX," "Kingdom Hearts 2.5" has won the gamers' heart. It has not only featured the best games in the franchise, but also included extra content and special boss battles, which were previously not available outside of Japan.

Meanwhile, "Kingdom Hearts" co-director Tai Yasue has stated that the development of "Kingdom Hearts 2.5" didn't cause the team to sidetrack and delay "Kingdom Hearts 3."

"We've been working full throttle," Tai Yasue told GameInformer. "It's moving along. We structured our team in a way that development of 2.5 doesn't impede 'Kingdom Hearts III'. I'm actually very excited about 'Kingdom Hearts III.'"

"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX" was launched in a special fan event on Dec. 1 at the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California. This limited edition is currently available on Amazon for $39.99.
